“If you set goals and go after them with all the determination you can muster, your gifts will take you places that will amaze you.”
In life, I think it’s so important to set yourself goals because when you achieve them, there is no better feeling. It shouldn’t matter if you think that your goals are big and push you way out of your comfort zone or they’re little, everyday tasks you want to get done; a goal is a goal. So I’ve written down a few of my goals for the next year or so, starting now, and I’m going to make them a priority.
Getting a job that I love:
So, as some of you may know, due to my ongoing health issues I’ve been out of work for 2 months and I am SO ready to go back now; I’m sick of hospitals and feeling crap. I want to make it my goal to secure a position in a job that I love and that would be going back into banking. Yes, banking. I find banking fraud so interesting and engaging so I really want to work in that field.
Getting a new car
It’s been a whole year since my lil Ford KA died on me and ever since I’ve missed having my own car. I car-shared for a little while but now I want a nice, new car of my own. Get me back on the road!
Adding a home office to the spare room
Since I got the house, I really wanted to add a little office space to the spare room; somewhere I can blog and get in my zone. Pinterest has been my absolute favourite place to go for major inspo!
Work with more brands
Recently, I’ve been working with a few brands and I absolutely love it. As you know, writing is my passion and beauty is my obsession so putting the two together leaves me in my element. I love working with brands and discovering new products.
Build my credit
A few years back, I had no clue about credit and had no idea what the hell a credit score even was. The importance of having a good credit score is so widely unknown in the younger generation but it will come in handy some day for a big purchase, such as a car.
Watch game of thrones
So this isn’t a big goal per-say, but I have wanted to watch Game of Thrones for so long and I am in desperate need of a new binge-worthy series. Yes, I’m late to the party I know but better late than never, right?
Renew my passport and go on holiday
My last holiday abroad was about 5/6 years ago. I know, feel for me. I’m in desperate need of sand, sun, cocktails, and culture but the only thing holding me back is that my passport has expired. I need to get on with renewing my passport and find a late deal.
Be a year clean of self-harm
One of the bigger and most important goals on this list. An entire year free from the clutches of self-harm. I have self-harmed for coming up to 8 years and now is the time for me to stop. I don’t want any more scars on my body. I’ve tried this before but unfortunately only made it to 7 months clean, which is obviously great but I really wanted to make the full year.
Work on my recovery from mental health
Similar to the goal above but recovering from ill mental health is another one of my biggest goals. This time next year, I want to be free from the clutches of debilitating mental illnesses and that starts with me. This time I really want to get better, I don’t want to be back in the hospital and I want to improve my quality of life.
So, for now, these are my list of goals I’m going to be working towards achieving. I’d love to know what your goals are so, as always, let me know in the comments below or on my social media linked below also.
These are reaallllly great goals!!!.xx
Hope you achieve them all

Congratulations on getting to 7 months clean! Its hard, but i am sure you can do it! I believe in you, 7 months is a long time – be proud of yourself! Working on yourself is such a hard thing to do, and Mental Health recovery is something that you need to wokr on every single day! But, you are the most important person to yourself, and you need to remember that! So take as much time as you need, and look after yourself!xo
